Linux World Expo

I saw a couple of pictures of signs saying that no under 18s would be admitted into the Linux World Expo, I’m going to keep a look out for similar ones at the Expo over here in Lonond in October, in case they’re doing the same over here (they probably will).

I don’t remember there being any signs of that nature when I went there last year, I also don’t remember if you had to specify a DOB at the site as I was 18 at the time anyway so it wouldn’t have mattered, still it seems a little harsh, considering the large amount of under 18s using Linux. On the other hand, it makes sense considering a large part of the expo is aimed at businesses, and the various talks  do cost a lot of money so I’m assuming most of them have their employers cover them.

So concluding, even if having signs explicitly stating that no under 18s would be admitted if a little harsh do make sense if 70-80% of your customers are going to come from a business environment, who’d probably expect that sort of thing.
