Everyone’s favouritecar the Mercedes S-Class, which as we all know comes with the sort of impressive gadgetry us mortal folk won’t see in our cars for another 5 to 10 years now comes in an armoured version called the S-Guard!
I’ll have to read up on it but from what I’ve seen it’s very impressive, and a lot more so than the entry level armoured limousine BMW did a couple of years ago the 540i Protection.
This post would have a fancy embedded video showing you the S-Guard but for some reason it doesn’t want to work, so tough.
Very nice smoke effects demonstrated in a new app called Disco (http://discoapp.com) for the MacOS X.

The amazing sacarasc has teamed up with EvilCouch, who I don’t know, to make a new and amazingly funny webcomic. Funnily enough it’s called The World’s Worst Webcomic and updates fairly regularly right now, but that may change!
Sadly I haven’t spoken to sacarasc in a while because he managed to break his computer =( Power surge == Fried Motherboard, otherwise I’d be less bored. sacarasc rules
While on the topic of LWE.
Some people may remember the signs at the US one proclaiming that no one under the age 18 will be admitted under penalty of death. The London one didn’t have those, so either they changed their policy or we didn’t get any crazy over 18 content!
Such as shame, the US one is always better than the UK one
Wish I got a picture of the guy with the shoulder length hair and the German accent working for Novell. I think he looks just like Fukov in Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning. So I could have posted pictures of the two next to each other which would have been kinda cool I guess.
As promised Here’s a picture of me holding a 2.2kW power supply!

I checked a few days ago and I was 19th for rampant-sex it now appears I’m 17th, which is pretty cool. Hopefully within a few months I’ll be higher up for a couple of other search results too!
Yesterday was day two! And after feeling pretty crappy the night before, I overslept and only made it to the exhibition at around 1.30pm. I met up with Neothermic and some other people, and sat around in the basement IRCing for a while, until someone suggested that we replace the browser’s homepage with lastmeasure. I couldn’t remember a mirror, so we set it to goatse instead and surprisingly it remembered the settings. We then walked off and someone else went to use the computers were at, and were probably goatsed, before being rescued by one of the people who ran that thing.
We then spent the rest of the time walking around trying to get free stuff, I ended up with two free tshirts, one from Novell and the other from Tuxgames and an IBM hat. It appears that there was also a Novell hat but sadly I didn’t get one!
We then met up with Christel and spb, waited for Matt and his journalist friend then went to the same pub as the Drupal people. I had a drink and watched Linux being fixed on an iBook and Neothermic running out of power on his 50 mAh battery! We then decided to go to another Pub and I made my way home with my mother’s cooking waiting for me at home.
Next year I’ll probably end up distributing Last measure CDs and boot floppies.
So today was kind of entertaining. I met up with Neothermic then went around the expo looking at various things! We talked to some guy on the Novell stand, and looked at XGL in nearly its full glory, sadly the computer they had has a shitty graphics card, it’s very impressive nonetheless. Also got some free CDs and a sticker, gonna try for an OpenSUSE CD and tshirt tomorrow, to go with the collection!
Then we went to talk to the nice people from LinuxQuestions.org to get Neothermic’s laptop sorted out, which they did after quite some time during which I got bored and went to take random pictures of things. I also managed to get a stuffed goat which is rather cute, and Dave2 will get one as well as a rubber Darwinian the next time I see him, lucky Dave2! In the end it was a screwy partition table and they got it to boot properly, which is cool considering that he now has a laptop runnin Ucuntu. Now all he has to do is get himself a nice, Linux friendly, wifi card so he doesn’t have to use NDISwrapper!
Also talked to the people at HP a lot, about their extremely impressive Blade servers, once of which consumes around 10kW of power and would short out their stand if they were to plug it in. Personally I think they should steal power from Novell, who are like the Microsoft of the Linux world along with Red Hat.
Speaking of Red Hat, we saw Alan Cox a couple of times, sadly we didn’t get to speak to him or as I had hoped, have our pictures taken with him which makes Ebola sad. The closest I got to Alan was a few feet when he walked past us to get lost in the crowd. Hopefully we’ll have more luck tomorrow!
Also met Christel and spb at the end of the show, should see them and many others tomorrow, so more to come!
With any luck I’ll also put up a picture of me playing air guitar with a Blade PSU.
