Another credit card post

I’ve not done a sponsored post in quite a while now, and since I’ve got a lot more free time now at least until I find myself a job I thought I might as well make a new one.

This one is relevant to me as it allows me to express my general view on credit cards which I see as a tool, and don’t really have a regular need for which is why I decided to get a random pre-paid card which I can use when ordering online which won’t accept the debit card provided by my bank or paypal/google checkout. So far I’ve not used it but you never know, the only problem I have with it is the fact that they take a £3.50 loading fee.

Now I could apply for a CC from my bank or anywhere else after having various compared credit cards, but I like the idea of using a prepaid card for certain things, because they’re disposable and if I get ripped off there is no chance of someone cleaning out my bank account.
Obviously certain people are interested in balance transfer credit cards but that mainly applies to people who have cards and want to switch.

So in conclusion: I view credit cards as a tool to purchase stuff which I want and can afford, mainly for online ordering rather than something to borrow against and then pay off later. I guess that’s an extremely responsible attitude to have as a 19 year old, and I doubt it’ll change.

Don’t have very much to do right now, so I’m going to spend the day writing up my CV and sending out job applications while waiting for the mail to arrive.

I’m currently waiting for a turbo lighter to arrive which I bought on ebay, but knowing most ebay sellers even though I specifically asked him to send it out as soon as possible as i may not be able to receive it otherwise, he probably sat on his fat arse all weekend and didn’t even bother to mail it before yesterday after I paid him on Thursday.

I’ve also been trying to find a cheap hotel in Wolverhampton, because I’ve decided that going to LUGRadioLive might not be such a bad idea, sadly all of the hotels on their website appear to be booked, and one hasn’t replied yet. So I might not go in the end because I was unable to find accomodation, how lame :(

I return…well almost

My last exam is tomorrow which is an awesome thing considering that I’ll now be “free” until October which is when my degree starts.

While I was away a bunch of things happened, I obviously had my exams but I also moved, which sadly meant that I was unable to attend the London hackday because I not only had to revise but was literally in the middle of moving, hopefully I’ll be able to make up for it some time.

I also seem to have slipped in my google rankings recently as I no longer appear to be within the top three for the search term rampant sex, this obviously saddens me greatly after having spent so much time to get there, hopefully it won’t take too long to get back up and maybe I’ll even manage to bump El Reg off the top spot…

As I already mentioned I have my last exam tomorrow morning, which means I’ll be able to finally get the gears on my bike fixed so I can take it out for regular spins. I was unable to do so because I really didn’t feel like getting into an accident while I was still writing my exams, just in case I broke an arm or worse… Breaking and arm would probably only have meant that the school would provide me with a special needs person…

While on the subject of growing, I may have grown myself! I decided to measure myself late last evening and I seem to be a centimetre taller from the last time, and as it was late in the day it’s not a dodgy result, I’m therefore 188cm!
Maybe I’ll get lucky and get another two out of my body ;-;

Anyway I’ll be off for the night now, only came online to check ebay.

I’ve got a new toy…sort of

I recently decided to buy a powerball and after a lot of delay it was delivered on Wednesday and as you might imagine these little hand gyroscopes are tremendous fun.

Sadly mine was damaged in transit and was rather noisy but I was able to return it to the reseller and I should get my replacement as soon as possible.

I did however use the dodgy one I received for a while and my arms are still aching I can also hardly type :(

As it turns out they really do what it says on the tin and if you overdo it will make you pay for it.

I can’t wait for my new one to arrive so I can use it once my exams are over, I obviously need to beat my laughable record of 9337rpm! (Without leaving me unable to write at a crucial time)

By the way: The ball I link to above is the one I own!

Want to hire me?

PayPerPost have recently made some new changes to their website, which as usual include some visual changes but also quite a few technical changes, most of which are for the better!

For those of you who still don’t know what PayPerPost do, they enable bloggers to make money using their blog.

As you can see from my previous post I can now look at the ban text set by advertisers, sadly it doesn’t reference who left the ban otherwise I’d know who to stay clear of because the bans I’ve received so far were completely unjustified and needlessly tarnish my background as a PayPerPost user.

Another new feature is the ability to reserve a post for much longer than ever before, which depending on how you look at it is either a bad thing or a very good thing! You can now reserve a post for six hours instead of one, which not only gives you enough time to have some coffee but it should also be more than enough time for someone to come up with a “cracking” post. However I’m sure some people are going to feel let down by this time increase if they feel that people rush at certain opportunities, reserve them and then take their time in the knowledge no one else is able to complete the opportunity.

Personally I view it as a major improvement as I tend to find myself writing a couple of sentences then reading something and completely forgetting about a post, by the time I’ve finished my reservation might be over and I find myself with a wasted post.

The most exciting new feature has to be PayPerPost direct, which enables advertisers to hire a blogger directly by clicking on a badge on their blog. PayPerPost then act as a kind of escrow agent making sure that everything runs smoothly so that the blogger gets paid and the advertiser gets the post they paid for.

Furthermore it significantly decreases the markup charged to advertisers from 35% to a 10% service fee with 5% consisting of credit card processing and paypal fees, not bad eh?

I’m so excited that I replaced my PayPerPost affiliate badge with a Direct badge which will enable anyone to hire me for the price stated by the badge, currently $15 but this may increase in time.

So if you think I’m exactly what your product needs don’t hesitate to hire me and I’m bound to produce a quality post for you!
However this post is really only a quick break from studying with my first exam on Monday, so hiring me before June 28 is probably not a very good idea.
