Judging from what I’ve seen at work people don’t seem to be concerned about swine flu any more and the mass hysteria has come to an end, mostly demonstrated by me not constantly having to inhale fumes from the spirigel dispenser as visitors have stopped using it.
I could ask them to use it but where I’m currently working the policy has been for visitors to only use spirigel/anti-bacterial handrub if they’ve used public transport, and most of them pop to the loo before appointments anyway so one would hope that they wash their hands.
It’ll be interesting to see whether the supposedly predicted massive epidemic will happen and whether the government will have to start digging mass graves and staff crematoria 24 hours a day as one paper has suggested.
After some discussion with someone (Miguel) I met last Monday, we’ve come to the decision that we’re going to be starting a bike polo group in Leicester as soon as possible, as well as going on group rides and the like.
It’ll be interesting from an organisational standpoint and to see how many people we can rope into it.
I’ll probably look into starting a bike related society at Uni, or at least into what funding and insurance they offer.
Develop a roll of film and then while fixing take it out, unspool a part of it to check and hold said piece and roll of film up to the light above your head.
The resulting drip should hit you right in the face somewhere around the eye.
Luckily I’m a ninja and dodged it so that it only hit my shoulder.
I should probably start wearing goggles.
I’ve got two unrelated projects on the go at the moment for which I’m lacking parts and I was wondering whether I could use the internet to scrounge some…
So does anyone have some aluminium ski poles they no longer need or an old neoprene diving suit?
If so please get in touch.
As it turns out the fountains aren’t running because people stuffed rubbish down the jets while they were bathing in it and they are now being repaired.
It’s annoying considering they were very pretty fountains with colour changing jets…really brightened up my journey home when they were on.
